"Michael Todd Barrett is an author to watch, in the league of Tim Downs, Robert Liparulo and Ted Dekker. . . ." That’s what one critic had to say about Michael’s new book, "The Curse," an exciting story of intrigue with a message of faith and hope. Michael’s passion has always been to encourage Christians in their walk with God, and that passion shows through in his writing.

At sixteen Michael decided he wanted to become a writer. So, he began to do the things writers do such as keeping a journal and writing poetry and short stories. At eighteen in his first year of college one of his professors told him he had no talent and could never be a writer. Devastated, he went home and threw away his journal and resigned himself to a future in some other profession.

Michael spent the next few years aimlessly seeking fulfillment in worldly pursuits and physical pleasure. His hope of a career as a writer dashed, he found himself in the construction industry where he spent many years working as a carpenter.

But years later, after discovering faith in Jesus through the witness of his soon-to-be wife, the writing bug bit him again. And this time there was no stopping him.

Michael has published a number of articles in various print outlets-- all with the single purpose of challenging Christians to be all they can be in Christ.

His debut novel, The Curse has those who have read it clamoring for more. "I couldn’t put it down!" and "I didn’t want it to end!" are common reactions from many of Michael’s fans.

Today, Michael lives in Northern California where he and his wife, Sharon, operate The Ranch, a ministry to pastors and seminary students.
